Metabolic health · Data-backed

Intermittent fasting, backed by data.

Fasting works — for some people, in some windows, with some foods. The problem is that most people are running a protocol they read about, not one they've measured. At Balance Body Hub we pair a continuous glucose monitor with a Personalised Nutrition consult so your fasting window is chosen from your data, not from a trend cycle.

How it works

CGM + consult, a measured loop.

Two weeks of continuous data. One expert consult to translate it. A refined fasting protocol that reflects your actual physiology.

01

Your fasting window

16:8, 18:6, OMAD, 5:2, circadian eating — protocols only matter if they work for your physiology. We start with the window you're already trying and adjust from real data, not from what worked for someone on YouTube.

02

Continuous glucose monitor

A 14-day CGM sits on the back of your arm and reads interstitial glucose every few minutes. You see fasted baselines, refeed spikes, exercise dips and — critically — the meals that hold you steady versus the ones that trigger the crash-and-crave loop.

03

Personalised Nutrition consult (£70)

Your nutritionist reads the CGM curve alongside your goals, energy patterns and lifestyle. You leave with a fasting window that actually suits you, a refeed template that keeps glucose steady, and a plan for training-day exceptions.

04

Re-test and refine

Metabolism isn't static. A follow-up CGM window four to eight weeks later shows what has moved — flatter curves, faster returns to baseline, fewer nocturnal dips. The programme evolves with the numbers.

What the data reveals

Six signals worth reading properly.

A CGM produces a graph. A good consult turns that graph into decisions.

Fasted glucose

How stable your body sits between meals — the single best window into insulin sensitivity outside a clinic.

Post-meal excursion

The height and shape of the spike after each meal. Not just what you ate — how you ate it, in what order, at what time of day.

Return-to-baseline time

How quickly you settle after eating. Faster returns tend to mean better energy, better sleep and easier next-fast windows.

Nocturnal patterns

What glucose does overnight — often the missing piece behind 3am wake-ups and morning fatigue.

Exercise response

How fasted training, refed training and post-workout meals shape the curve. Endurance and resistance work read very differently.

Stress signatures

Cortisol-driven glucose rises show up on CGM even when you haven't eaten. Useful data on how your week is actually landing.

The rhythm

Six weeks, measured end to end.

Week 0

Personalised Nutrition consult

Goals, history, current fasting window and training pattern. CGM applied on-site or arranged with a partner supplier.

Weeks 1–2

CGM data collection

Live your normal week. Log meals through the paired app. No performance for the sensor — honest data is the whole point.

Week 3

Consult review

Your nutritionist walks the curve with you: what to keep, what to shift, which meals to redesign, which fasting window actually suits you.

Weeks 4–6

Protocol in the wild

Practise the refined plan. Members layer in Zone-1 hydration (Kangen + copper), sound therapy for stress-driven curves, and coach-led movement for insulin sensitivity.

Week 8

Optional re-test

A second CGM window quantifies the shift — flatter meal responses, faster returns to baseline, cleaner overnights. Adjust and continue.

Fasting & CGM · FAQ

Myth-busting FAQ.

Do I need to already be fasting to benefit?

+

No. Many guests use the CGM + consult to decide whether intermittent fasting suits them at all. Two weeks of data will tell you whether extending your overnight window helps or hurts your particular metabolism. For some people, three balanced meals is genuinely the better protocol.

Is a CGM safe for non-diabetics?

+

Modern CGMs are minimally invasive, water-resistant and worn on the back of the upper arm. They're widely used by non-diabetic guests for exactly this reason — objective data on how food, sleep, stress and training move glucose. Anyone with a diagnosed metabolic condition should coordinate with their GP or specialist; our consult is educational and lifestyle-focused, not diagnostic.

What if my fasting window and my training clash?

+

That's often the most useful data of all. The CGM shows whether fasted training genuinely serves your goal or quietly drains recovery. Your nutritionist adjusts the window and refeed structure around your training rather than the other way round — especially for endurance and strength blocks.

How much does it cost together?

+

The Personalised Nutrition consult is £70. The CGM device is sourced separately (guests typically supply their own or use a partner supplier); we integrate the readings into your consult and follow-up. Members on Rejuvenate and Realign receive priority slots and follow-up reviews as part of their tier.

Can I combine this with the Balance Body Scan?

+

Yes — and most guests do. The Balance Body Scan gives us vitals, systems and voice-analysis context; the CGM gives us live metabolic response. Together they turn a fasting protocol from a guess into a measured programme.

What lifestyle changes usually come out of it?

+

Common shifts: eating protein earlier in the day, moving the last meal earlier, dropping one specific 'safe' food that turns out to spike hard, adding a short post-meal walk, and — often — being kinder to yourself about the fasting window that suits your life rather than the one on the internet.

Safety & scope

Our Personalised Nutrition consult and CGM support are educational and lifestyle-focused. They are not diagnostic and do not replace medical advice. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, managing a diagnosed metabolic or eating-disorder history, on glucose-affecting medication, or under specialist care, please consult your GP or clinician before beginning any fasting protocol. We're happy to coordinate with your care team.
